South Florida bankruptcy lawyers Michael Lessne and Michael Hoffman are pleased to announce the launch of Lessne Hoffman PLLC, a boutique law firm based in Fort Lauderdale representing businesses, individuals, and creditors in bankruptcy and business litigation across Florida and in bankruptcy courts nationwide.
Michael Lessne, a former partner at Nelson Mullins and GrayRobinson, who previously founded Lessne Law, is President of the Bankruptcy Bar Association of the Southern District of Florida. Lessne is a certified public accountant, bringing unique financial expertise to his legal practice. Hoffman, a former partner of Hoffman, Larin & Agnetti, is Chair of the Lawyers Advisory Committee for the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of Florida.
The two have worked together for many years as co-counsel, successfully collaborating on complex bankruptcy cases, such as securing ownership of a downtown Orlando building for a secured creditor in a contested Chapter 11 case and representing a bankruptcy trustee in pursuing 50 lawsuits to recover millions of dollars in clawback claims in Miami bankruptcy court.
“We have a complementary skill set, and we are joining forces to create something fresh and client-centered in the bankruptcy community,” said Lessne. “Launching this firm is the culmination of a shared vision to rethink how bankruptcy and litigation strategies are delivered. We’re excited to create a practice that thrives on partnership, precision, and bold solutions for navigating today’s financial complexities.”
“The shifts in today’s financial landscape demand a dynamic, solutions-driven approach to bankruptcy and business disputes,” Hoffman said. “We see a unique opportunity to apply our combined experience in a way that drives impactful outcomes for clients facing high-stakes challenges.”
Lessne and Hoffman have more than 30 years of combined bankruptcy and business litigation experience, with thriving fiduciary, creditors’ rights, and debtor practices. The firm will focus on:
- Representation of bankruptcy trustees, receivers, and assignees
- Creditors’ rights
- Restructuring and Chapter 11 reorganization cases, assignments for the benefit of creditors
- Out of court workouts and wind downs, the purchase of assets from insolvent estates
- Representation of plaintiffs and defendants in complex business cases in federal and state court.
